One of the highlights this week

Finally, I have officially finished the 2000 km with my bike on Wednesday. I am so proud. ;) Well, I am not sure when I have reset my bike computer the last time. I guess it was somehow in the beginning of last year. So this is the result from one and a half summers of biking to work. Okay, after all it doesn't sound much, but I was very happy when I saw the 2000 on the display. Well, I could have reached it much earlier but I was lazy this summer and the weather was also not sooo good. So many excuses not to take the bike in the morning. ;) But it is done! =)

World War II Bomb Detonation in Munich

Who can believe that?! On Monday, construction workers found a 2nd world war bomb in Munich. The bomb was buried one meter deep at the site of the former bar "Schwabinger 7". I don't believe it was laying here all the time. I had been a couple of times in the old and shabby bar which had become iconic in Munich. The bar was always really crowded, I was always wondering how so many people can fit inside. We were all standing on a bomb without expecting anything. Strange picture! Well, they found the 250kg bomb on Monday and the surrounding area got evacuated very fast. On Tuesday, they tried to defuse the bomb but without success. So, a control detonation seemed to be the best solution. Simon Aschenbrenner was making a video of the whole detonation from his home and put it online. To watch is just click here. Here is one of the images of this video.

Luckily, nobody got hurt. After the explosion there were small fires (they used straw to cover the bomb which of course caught fire and set the surrounding building on fire. I still don't understand why they used straw in the first place) and destroyed windows, but it seems that extremly big damage occurred.
I still can't believe that people were drinking, listening to music and having fun directly on top of a bomb for over 42 years and nothing serious happened. Well, I guess sometimes you have to be lucky!

Vacation Planing

I am not sure what to do this year. After being 3 weeks in Ghana last year and 3 weeks in Mexico the year before, I did not have any plans for this year. Sad, isn't it?!
And now everything changed and I am not sure what I shall do. A friend asked me at a BBQ on Tuesday, if I don't want to join her on her diving vacation in December. She is going for three week to Thailand!!! It sounds so awesome and I really would like to join, but I don't have any experience in diving. So I would need to do my diving license before the trip and time is running. I have never been in Asia before and I think Thailand is definitely worth to visit.
In order to make my decision, I will go to a test dive next Thursday and will check if it is fun or not. ;) Do you think I should do the Thailand trip?

Cute Monsters

Aren't these t-shirts cute? Since I have learned how to use my sewing machine, I am addicted to read this kind of creative websites. One of my favorites is Draußen nur Kännchen. I wish I would be as talented as Caro and would have the time to produce my own cute and fancy things. Once I do find some time, it is really relaxing and always very satisfying since you end up with a nice, hand-made item. ;)

Finally, it is summer in Germany

Since a few days it has been really warm in Germany. Currently, it has 33°C (91.4 degree Fahrenheit) which doesn't sound tooooo warm compared to Spain or so, but in the office it feels like 40°C or more. I should take some days off and go to one of the lakes here. I wish we had some air condition in our office ... So for all of you who are also sweating at work as I do, the perfect song of today:

New Design

I think it is time to reactivate my blog. I know I've already said this 2 years ago, but now I am 100% serious. ;) So, I started by choosing a new design and updating my link list. As you might noticed I am addicted to creative crafting websites. Unfortunately, I do not often find the time to be creative by myself. :/ But I hope I can change this in the future. From now on, I will post some things I made with my own hands or links I find very useful and of course exciting news about my life. ;) Considering the latter, tomorrow I do have a day off and I am going to visit a friend in Ingolstadt. Let's see which city is more attractive, Munich or Ingolstadt. ;) I wish you all a nice weekend! Besitos, Anja
